  • Do I need to create an account to post an Ad?

    Yes, all sellers must create an account.

    If you are a buyer you will also need to create an account if you want to communicate with sellers via chat.

    You must verify your email address to create an account – look out for the verification email in your inbox. If it doesn’t arrive, check your spam folder.

  • Do I need to enter credit card details to create an account?

    No credit card details are needed to create an account and post your Ads

  • Posting an Ad

  • How do I post an Ad?

    1. Login or create an account, then select POST YOUR AD
    2. Enter ad details, upload images & submit

    That’s it! You’re good to go…

    Ads last for 30 days. If you’d like to extend that time for a particular Ad, please contact us.

  • How do I write a successful Ad?

    • Make your headline pop
    • Be descriptive and precise
    • Be clear about shipping details such as cost and which states you ship to, especially for quarantine purposes
    • Use a call to action with instructions about what you would like buyers to do e.g.. ‘email me now to purchase’
    • Re-read your ad from the buyer’s point of view. Is is clear, punchy and attractive? If so, you’re good to go!

  • Can I edit an Ad after it’s been posted?

    Yes, you can edit all information and images EXCEPT listing type (Sell, Buy or Swap) and Category.

    Go to your account – MY LISTINGS – EDIT

  • Do I need to delete my Ads?

    Ads are active for 30 days, but if you sell your item(s) it’s a good idea to delete the Ad via your account to prevent buyers from contacting you unnecessarily.

    You may also like to mark your Ad as SOLD and leave it until the expiry date, demonstrating the effectiveness of your Ads.

    Expired Ads will be automatically deleted 45 days after expiry.

  • Will my Ad also be posted to the Indoor Plant Trader - Australia Facebook page?

    Yes, all Ads are automatically posted to our Facebook page.

    Note, however, that all buying and selling must be conducted via the website NOT the Facebook page, as it is not monitored by those posting the Ads.

    We also have a Facebook Group for registered users of our website – for general chit chat about indoor plants.

  • How do I communicate with buyers and sellers?

    You can use email or phone (if supplied in the ad) or if you have an account you can use our chat function.

    Please note that an email alert is sent only for the first message in each chat thread…to continue the chat conversation you must login to your account.

  • How do I reset or recover my password?

    On the Account Login page, please use the lost password option to reset your password. You may need to check your spam folder for the confirmation email if it doesn’t arrive to your inbox quickly.

  • What kinds of Ads are NOT approved?

    We review listed ads regularly.

    It sounds obvious, but ads must be related to indoor plants and fall under one of our categories.

    In addition, any ads that don’t comply with our T&C’s and our Code of Conduct will be removed, especially ads that contain illegal, obscene or libellous content. This includes any cannabis or cannabis-related items.

    Other than that, we encourage you to be creative with your Ad copy!

  • Can I post more than one plant/item in an Ad?

    Ads are intended for single items or groups of similar items (such as 5 of the same variety for sale), but there’s nothing to stop you posting more than one item in each ad, provided you stay within the text limits and upload a maximum of 5 images.

    Just remember that clear, punchy and attractive ads work best, so cluttered ads might not stand out.
